Summer Inspiration

What inspires you?

I’m always curious what gets other people inspired? Excited? Where do you find your mojo?

For me, the number one thing is live music! Hearing my favorite bands or singers belt out my favorite songs always gets me going! My husband and I went to see John Mayer recently. He puts on one heck of a show! During the concert, I was plotting out a book! Not because I was bored, but because the energy flowed through me as I listened to his lyrics. There’s nothing like it. (And I must say, he’s pretty easy on the eyes.)

Another source of inspiration for me is travel. I love seeing the world with my family. In the beginning of August, my family of four and our close friends explored Italy for a week. We went to Rome, Pisa, Tuscany, Florence, San Gimignano, Verona and ended in Venice. It was HOT, but breathtaking and steeped in history. Did I mention it was hot? Around 100-105 degrees every day. Our guides were amazing though, taking us to high tourist areas early in the mornings to avoid the lines and we walked as much as possible in the shade. It was fantastic. Rome was my favorite. We ate dinner one night across the street from the Coliseum. It was like being in a dream. Here are a few of my favorite pictures.

I am excited to say that after my fun filled summer, I am buckling down and writing! I will be in a boxed set that comes out in March. I’ve been plotting and can’t wait for you guys to read the finished product! I’m already in love with the characters. I’ll give you more clues and hints in future blog posts!
